There’s something about music festivals that feel electric, whether it’s energy, music, or just freedom. I consider myself to be going through festival girlies and my romance with them began in 2019. Since then, the festival has become my annual ritual. But it wasn’t just the music that fell in love with me. On an unforgettable weekend under the starry Las Vegas Sky in 2021, I found love in a completely unexpected way.
It was an R&B and hip hop festival, and some of my favourite artists were performing. I went and my best friend (and Crash) wanted to go as well, so of course I invited him along with me. After three days of dancing, sweating and ambiance, the night in the desert became cold. He wrapped his arms around me. We’ve been together ever since.
Now, if you’re a plus-size girly, you already know that forgetting that you need to forget about the music festival is not only inconvenient, but it can also be a complete game changer. Over the years I have completed my must-see list and made sure my festival experience is always top notch. Trust me, these are music festival essentials you don’t want to leave behind.

For all my girls who love pure tops and skimpy festivals, these are lifesavers. They smooth everything, keep the girls safe and stay seamless under any outfit. Whether it’s a crocheted bralette, a mesh bodysuit or even a bold bikini top, these are essentials. And trust me, you can’t have too many.

Long days, endless walking, and dancing in the sun means one thing: sweat. Stick deodorants aren’t just fresh. This is the best anti-charge trick in the book. Forget the expensive anti-chaffin balm. It can be used for any stick deodorant. Swipe it between my thighs, under my arms, where I need a little extra gliding and thank me later.

You’ve seen those handheld fans, but let’s put you on my personal favorite, camera fans. It’s small, powerful, attached directly to your phone and keeps you cool while snapping the perfect festival selfie. Bonus: It will prevent your makeup from melting. This is the lifesaver of these long festival days.

No matter how well you pack your bags, there is always something you wanted. That’s why I say – nurture it all. Bra extender? Fill it with that. Statement chain belt? absolutely. An extra pair of Sunny? You will never regret it. Festival fashion is about having options, and once you get there, it’s not easy to find a perfect finishing touch.

The biggest rookie mistake? I think the desert is warm at night. When I forgot my jacket in Vegas, I learned this the hard way, but hey, it led to the best moments of my life, so I had no regrets. That said, I’ve always brought a lightweight but warm jacket now. It’s cozy, stylish and you can always “mistake” forget it in your room in case you need a reason to hold it.

I know, I know – sneakers is an obvious choice. But ask me: the knee high boots (particularly designed for wide calves) are game-changers. They protect your feet from dirt, keep you comfortable, and add a statement to any look. Don’t make a mistake wearing open-toed sandals unless you are enjoying the pain and regrets by the third hour.

The last touch? Perfect lip gloss. My ride is the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm. This is rich, tasty and sheen enough to give it its fun, kissable finish. Whether you’re kissing a long-standing crash under festival lights or just living your best life, a little sheen can go a long way.
Music festivals aren’t just about music. They are about memories, friendship, fashion, and sometimes unexpected love stories. Please give my advice, whether you’re heading to Coachella, Stagecoach or any other festival. Leave a smart, great stay, and always a small room for magic.
