To wrap it all up, I wanted to share some plus-size Halloween costume tips from some of my favorite plus-size cosplayers.

Here are five plus-size Halloween costume tips you should know.
TaLynn Kel is a femme writer, cosplayer, and author of great pop culture articles and creating space in the “nerd world” for black feminist nerds. When we had the pleasure of catching up with this cosplay genius, she provided us with some gems on how to create the best plus-size Halloween looks.
1.Choose an outfit that matches the image you want to have
“I love being a superhero or a villain, so Choose costumes that match that image. As a black woman, all I need to dress up as Storm’s version is a white wig. You can choose with or without a cloak.
And Storm doesn’t always wear a uniform. You can make it a casual version and wear it with literally anything and add the X-man emblem. I was making an emblem out of cardboard and red and black duct tape. ”
2. Use your closet for inspiration
“Use your closet for inspiration. Bought a hot pink skirt that you can’t wear to the office? Design a Halloween look around it. Perhaps a pin-up inspired look.
Do you have a dress that is a little too gothic for most occasions? Wear it and add some dark makeup to create an Evil Queen-inspired look. ”
3. Use tights instead of body paint
“Tights are a quick and easy way to change the color of your arms and legs without body paint.”
You can also cut a hole in the crotch area and wear the tights like a shirt. If you layer two of them, you will get a brighter color with a deeper color. Hue. ”

4. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box
“Don’t be afraid to think outside the box. You can create another version of your character, but you can’t have It’s about creating the absolutely exact version of what you want to dress up as. ”
5. When in doubt, try sketching.
“When you cosplay, in many cases, Sketch different versions of your character.…So this is not Wonder Woman in traditional costume, but in a ball gown, because that’s what’s most comfortable for me. ”
