18 Fashion Tips for Jump-Start Plus Size Spring Style
- The colours are playful
oooohhh I’m sooooo here for the strength of the colours of spring. I look forward to the rich blues, blind yellows and juicy oranges. Bold and bright prints of all scales! There’s no need to worry. The trend in spring colors is coming soon. I love this yellow leather bomber from Poetry Marina Rinaldi!
- Find some trendy key items to add to your closet
Every season, with my push, I find some pieces to update my closet. Wide leg pants, jumpsuits, rompers, shirt dresses, I last longer than a season, but I’m looking for items that will last for over a year or last for over a year.
- Eye of details
One way to add a little more tude or interest to your look? Details and finishing of your appearance – it’s the belt, gems, and even buttons on your jacket. Think of glasses that will shake your clutch, shoes, and glasses. They are equally important to your overall look!
- Clean your closet
I just did this. I’m going to remove an IKEA-sized bag full of merchandise! If I didn’t shake it up after seeing the spring and summer clothes of the past year… well, it’s time to go. I also review my keep and toss pile and get it from my partner. I tend to be too deep or not deep, and need the tough love of a nonsense girlfriend!
- Update the signature part
We all have true pieces that have been tried, but why not give that black blazer an update or replace it with an updated version? You can take it to a tailor and either try again, donate, or get a wardrobe that’s as exciting as you!
- Tears draw (Create a Pinterest board) Your personal style inspiration
I’m currently obsessed with Carine Roitfeld. For example, I love that she has an edgy signature style. She kills a midi pencil skirt paired with bold blouses and killer heels. I don’t copy her look to my toes, but I remain inspired by it and find out how this shakes for me. I even have a Pinterest board for others who have the look I think of!
- “Wear what scares you” – Jess Baker
Ah, this girl is good. Tell me when she said this when she was able to meet her in New York last week. This resonated violently with me. I was like Jesus. yes! I’m quickly applying this to my life, statistics. So this means that a little more bold Marie will play in the spring!
- Find some new, versatile basics to add to your closet
I love a great shirt dress. I’m advertised as they’re back. Hello Legs. Hehehe. But seriously, think about a new LWD-little white dress or wide-leg jeans and pants. These will be there for a while, and while they may not have been part of your essentials, they can!
- Accessories to maximize
I grew up in a retail store and always thought about my third piece, honing my appearance and curating your personality through accessories. I love the ring so at least two people won’t see me with my hands. I stok hautelook and Ideel for these. But find something that will help you and intentionally add a little personality and jazz to your look through these.
- Update the basics
The foundation you ask? It means underwear. When was the last time you measured it? The last time you bought Shapewear (if this is yours?) did you refresh your Chonie collection? With a new silhouette of spring, it is important that these pecking orders are just right, as these clothes are assumed!
- Play with items you feel confident (Not because it’s trending)
I tried out a skater skirt. It’s not for me. I really loved the look I wanted to love it, but I didn’t feel right. It wasn’t in my wheelhouse. But I tried it. I felt self-conscious and stupid, and this was a distraction from enjoying my day, the event and having a great day… I was proud to have given it a swirl, but would you do it again? Not that much.
- Make sure you know the suitability of each retailer
Not all plus size brands fit the same (Like a straight size). Some brands have the right issues, but it’s important to know which brands are more junior cuts, Missy cuts, or sizes. This will help you navigate designers, retailers and boutiques!
- Forget the “size” of your clothes and pay attention to the fit
I don’t know how loudly I can scream this, but fit is much more important than the size of the numbers. When the items fit well, you are more confident, comfortable, and guarantee that you will participate in the day or event! If the item doesn’t fit well, pulling, pulling, or other telling signs can prevent you from enjoying life – you make a fuss with your clothes.
- Know your measurements
Do you know these? When was your last professional measurement? (I did it with a tailor/dry cleaner) Knowing these will help alleviate shopping issues when shopping online if you need a little more security about buying online!
- Organize your closet
Clean and purify your closet, and the other thing to do is organize it. I’ve made a post or two about this! But if you can’t find anything, what’s the point of having an effective and balanced closet? I organize my life with items and colors… how about you?
- Read on to blogs, magazines (curve fashionistas, etc!), and sites from your favorite retailers to learn what’s down the pipeline!
We are here. There is a blogroll, my favorite designers and retailers, a boutique directory, and even clean navigation to help you find plus size designers, dresses, lingerie and shoes in sizes.
- enjoy
One of the things that helped me the most was to remove the seriousness from it, learn to learn something a little more fun and be lazy about it…for me, this was my challenge. It was easy to wear a maxi dress with Cali. However, by playing with separation, accessories, hair and make-up, I was able to find the old me. heyyy boooo!
- I own it
Whatever you decide to lock, Hane owns it. If you want to explore the trends of freedom hoho this season, do it and enjoy the flower child influence…
As you know, this journey is evolving and may take a little longer than the others. So, if you can’t own each of these, don’t worry. Hell I’m still working on it. Beauty is about learning who you are or making what you want to say!
Which one resonates with you the most? What is your favorite and are you going to work on it? Let’s chat!
