Devin Nelson’s new edition of surreal SFTTRPG Pale dots It was released on Before Kickstarter This week I took the game to a physical edition for the first time. Initial release last year. It is produced as a full-color, fully bound digest size book and will be published by Plus One Exp.

We are dust, sentient beings with small societies past the pinnacle of a modest technological revolution, and invented the means of exploring what transcends our world. As fledgling astronauts, we have founded a mysterious effort, an organization that seeks to explore heaven and our place within it.

Today we embark on a new space journey. Does it bring us closer to the stars or closer to ourselves?

Pale dots A tabletop role-play game with collaboration stories by Devin Nelson (@devindecibel). It is fantastical, surreal, perhaps different from humanity’s own ventures in space exploration, but one is universal. Leaving a home is scary, humble, dangerous, and a catalyst for changing your perspective. Inspired by Carl Sagan and the media’s memorization Outer Wild, There’s no man’s skyand DisappearanceNelson explains that its mechanics are descendants like improvised story games. Ross Cowman’s Magic Collapse and Avery Alder’s dream has become diagonal and diagonal.

“Looking at Carl Sagan’s universe and reading his books was extremely formative and led me to develop my own ideas about the boundaries of science, philosophy and spirituality, Nelson said. The game exists as a homage to Sagan and as a way to improvise and improvise storytelling with friends.”
