In the TTRPG world, Zine Month (or Zine Quest, or Tabletop Spotlight, etc.) is the most exciting month of the year. This is where new creators come up with their ideas in the world, and you can see how many boundaries they can push up with tabletop designs. There are so many options, so instead of sharing space with multiplayer games that get your coverage right away, I wanted to spotlight my favorite solo titles in my articles. I especially love solo TTRPGs because I might be the most experimental game you find. Some are from experienced designers, while others make their debut with Splash. But if you need all the support and excuses to give your shot a solo roleplay… this is your sign.
CrowdFundr does an incredible job supporting the Indie TTRPG project, although not as prominent in space as Kickstarter. Pirouette, Created by Everyone deserves shelter Designer Michael Sweeney, aka Innocent Goblin, has a fun and eerie look on the dark side of art. The dangers and sudden drama of dance are represented by the use of block towers (Jenga), which require balance and clever decisions to avoid a complete collapse. This is a new but successful mechanic in the indie scene, but its use here feels genius.

Have you seen it? Descend And then he says, “Boy, I wish I could do that?” I cannot support this impulse, but I recommend checking out Under that, Cave exploration game and the strange/creepy stuff lurking from the Cebu Pines (accidentally dealing with layouts) Pirouette. (This is not a big community). But I’m a sucker for cartography, and this is a very neat implementation aimed at capturing the real mystery and fear just below our feet.

I don’t know if Andrea Carbone is necessarily groundbreaking. Leica, However, I think the premise of the game is beautiful and moving. As you can imagine, you “play” as the Leica dog, the first dog in space and the first animal to orbit the Earth. Her purpose is well-known and tragic, but her place in the history of science and exploration is in the way. Leica It may make you cry, but sometimes it is necessary.

GrimScar I’m just a game where I’m almost guaranteed to give my money. It has a classic dark fantasy aesthetic with minimalist yet grotesque woodblock style hand-drawn by Jake Abington. You are an adventurer or a mercenary, passing through the mysterious shadows of dark Weald. You fight the scary creatures and, given the whole situation in the “dark, evil forest”, do your best to help the honorable town of Grimskar, which is not going well. Things to check out for fans of Mork Borg and Vaesen Those who want to experience the lonely oppressive nature of the creepy forest.
Cyberpunk games are the staple food of Zain Moon. After all, they are not as fictional as they once wanted. Chronicle of a Finite State Machine It’s not a game about fighting guys, blowing up buildings, or cool computer hacking. Instead, it’s simply a game about survival. Instead of giving you a cool, futuristic playground, get a timer. 30 days. 30 days and the choice needed to reach the other side. All you have is a D20 and your own judgment. Good luck!

While tarot-based games are very common during Zain Month, it’s great to see examples that work to properly engage with the tarot and its images. oPatron Mining Practice occult meditation is a fun way to storytelling your aspiring warlock.
The player shuffles the main arcana, treating three cards downwards in front of them, and placing the remaining decks on the side. Next, with one card at a time, the player flips the cards over and responds to the associated prompts for each card. The first card is in exchange for entering into an agreement with them that determine who the patron is, where the second card will meet, and what the third will seek.
Like a proper tarot reading, every pull changes your experience and becomes a completely different story every time you play. There are also two-player variants (intention to help create stories for TTRPG campaigns) and single-card variants (for a more idiosyncratic experience). The mechanism is simple, but it enjoys the power of imagination and destiny, combining it with an elegant and mystical aesthetic that really stands out from the pack.
