The memories of reading my first book as a child unleash the world far beyond the limits of everyday reality and remain vivid. There was a powerful inspiration and courage drawn from the stories of powerful and fearless girls like Pippy Long Stockings, which sparked a sense of boldness and potential.
And now Books for children It’s increasing again! They are one of the bestselling books, and their market value is 13 billion Dollar industry in 2024.
While evaluations may require quantification of children’s books, they cannot capture the important impact of the story and its characters on early development. In particular, in the Covid Times, children’s books are children’s places, allowing some adults to escape to feel lonely.
Today, we sit with three authors to explore the evolving importance and impact of storytelling for young audiences over a long period of time.

Chrysogonus Siddha Malilang, Chrysogonus Siddha Malilang is a senior lecturer and current editor at Malmö Universitet, Sweden. Bookbird. He is a researcher in children’s literature and education, a creative writer and translator.
Agócs is Illustrator and author. After studying cultural anthropology and ethnography, she switched to illustration. I especially enjoy the illustrations of children and slightly grotesque themes.
Liv Andrea Banner He is a Danish writer who grew up in Aarfs and recently completed his degree in Creative Writing and Irish Literature from Srigo. Her debut novel, Guilt Associationwas published in 2025 and was nominated for the Bodil & Jørgen Much-Christensen Award.
