His eldest son, Arthur, expected the role he was given, and the free hand to enjoy his dominant interest in the brewery. The complex partnership of these two brothers – opposed, yoked to each other and often resent each other – forms the dramatic hearts of the Guinness House.

As Steven Knight was inspired to create Peaky Blinds by his gang-riding parents’ childhood stories in Birmingham, Knight, after talking to Lowell, discovers the creative well needed to take on the Guinness home. “Ivana is an absolute mine of family information and untold stories that go back several years ago,” he says at a show’s press conference. “Meeting her means not only you got the story, [family] Confidence, and spirit and a slight madness… I was hooked. ”

How to find the correct tone? I didn’t want them to be villains, but businessmen in the time must be ruthless – Ivana Lowell

House of Guinness is related to the family of trade – yes is successful, but is determined to expand the business further and use the necessary measures to leverage the large workforce. The majority of the action takes place in Ireland (the Liverpool Dock serves as a stand-in for St. James Gate Brewery), and there are several scenes in New York where Guinness’s cousin is sent to pursue international growth. Irish revolutionaries, who have been bent on the armed struggle to free Ireland from Britain, are seen as targeting Guinness’s profits as they did in real life, but the company is known for treating workers well and is known to be higher than average wages and old age pensions. Edward Guinness, Count Iveag, later said in the past that “you can’t make money from people unless you want to make money from people.”

The action is a massive brewery dirty grounds, the Dublin ballroom and mansion, and the people who “not depart for Boston” 20 years after hunger, and those who are not reporting, live on the roof of the roof. While love for Ireland and Irish is part of the legacy of privileged families, Lowell’s story focuses on how they walked the tightrope at crazy moments in history, telling them they would flourish both commercially and personally. She explains to the BBC: “How do you find the right tone? I didn’t want them to be villains, but they have to be ruthless, especially at the time.”
