To celebrate the upcoming 100th episode of the Catholic Culture Podcast, here’s the interview that started it all. This interview, originally published on August 4, 2017, was so well received that we decided to start a series of interviews about Catholic art and culture. The podcast launched a few months later on May 1, 2018.
Catholic composer and pianist Mark Christopher Brandt joins Thomas Milas to discuss his classical albums and suites nightingaleinspired by the story “The Emperor and the Nightingale” by Hans Christian Andersen. This discussion featured not only the album itself, but also a broader exploration of the spiritual themes of Andersen’s classic fairy tale, particularly what it conveys about the true meaning of freedom, which was a double pleasure.
