Bishop Michael Burbidge of Arlington, Virginia, recently published a Catechesis on Man and Gender Ideology. The document takes clear strong positions against transgender ideology, down to practical details such as telling believers not to use transgender names or pronouns. It also does a great job of showing how the anthropology and theology of the church as a whole engages with transgender issues.

Today’s guest, Fr. Stephen Schultz was one of the Bishop’s advisors in drafting this document. Father Schultz is director of EnCourage Apostolate for the Diocese of Arlington and chaplain of St. Paul VI Catholic High School.
