A few years ago, in 2016, he introduced the 1950 Superman poster, urging students to defend American methods and fight discrimination everywhere. Today we present another chapter from the lesser-known history of Superman as a civil rights advocate.

The year is 1946. World War II is over. And now, Ku Klux Klan’s membership begins to rise again. input Stetson Kennedyhuman rights activists understand inventive ways to infiltrate the KKK and defeat them. He contacts the producer Popularity Adventures of Superman Radio program, Sold them with a new storyline. Superman meets and defeats the KKK. Producers need what they need to beat their new enemies.

The 16-episode series, “The Clan of the Fiery Cross,” aired in June 1946, effectively removing the mystique of the clan, gradually revealing their secret codewords and rituals. Listen to the episode above. And take the mind knowing this: According to Stephen J. Dubner and Stephen Levitt, author of Something unusual, A fiery family of crosses He was “the biggest contributor to the weakening of Ku Klux Klan.” The number of clans has been reduced due to the smallest possible reasons.
