Rose Gray has released her debut album. Speak louder On January 17th Another PlaysomeToday’s announcement coincides with the release of a new single. ‘switch’, Vasso VThe director’s music video, check it out below.
“It’s fashionable to change things up, but we don’t talk about it enough,” Gray said in a statement. “Why should we be defined by one role in a relationship or personality type?”
Speak louder The band boasts collaborations with Justin Tranter (Lady Gaga, Chapel Roan), Zone (Troye Sivan), Sega Bodega, Uffie and Alex Metric. “I’ve always been into loud music, whether it was late-night car rides with my dad as a kid or being glued to club speakers as a teenager,” Gray said, adding:
The album title was born on a microphone. It’s a joke that I was always asking for “louder, please”. I’ve been writing songs for myself and others, exploring different cities and parties for 10 years, and I always knew I was aiming for a record that would bring it all together and represent all sides of me. There’s definitely something about my personality that loves adventure and is always looking for more. I’ve been heartbroken, I’ve fallen in love again, and I’ve become a woman in the process. For me, “Louder, Please” captures the story of raves, fantasies, friends, and us. It’s classic pop that’s firmly rooted in the underground. Whether it’s on the beach or in the club, I want these songs to be rooted in someone’s life. I hope you enjoy it, but play it loud.
