A thrilling new horror film set inside the White House is in development and promises to combine political drama with supernatural horror. Produced by Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster, the film is based on the acclaimed comic book series. Exorcism with Pen 1600created by Hannah Rose May and published by IDW Publishing.

Demonic Terror in the White House: From Comics to Movies

The new film combines elements of demonic possession with high-stakes political leadership, offering a new take on horror. The story is as follows kelly doylethe first female president of the United States who faces terrifying demonic possession within the White House while navigating a global crisis, media scrutiny, and motherhood. This project explores themes of power, fear, and the paranormal in the contemporary political environment.

Produced by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster

Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions and James Wan’s Atomic Monster have teamed up to bring this intense horror story to the big screen. Jason Blum will serve as producer, along with executive producers Ryan Turek, Hannah Rose May, and IDW Publishing CEO Davidi Jonas. The film aims to capture the sense of urgency and realism that made the comic book series a hit.

Comic series details and sequels

Created and written by Hannah Rose May. Exorcism with Pen 1600 Illustrated by Vanessa Del Rey and colored by Jordy Bellaire. This manga also spawned a sequel titled Exorcism at Buckingham Palaceexpanding the supernatural universe to other iconic locations.

In a statement to Deadline, Hannah Rose May expressed her excitement: “Working with Blumhouse to bring 1600 Penn’s The Exorcism to the big screen is a dream come true. Blumhouse has defined modern horror for a generation, and we couldn’t be more excited to collaborate on this adaptation.”

Ryan Turek, Blumhouse’s vice president of feature development, emphasized the film’s unique appeal: “What immediately drew us to Penn 1600’s ‘Exorcism’ was its earthy sense of urgency. Classic possession horror meets modern political tensions in a bold, deeply human story. We’re looking for filmmakers who can bring this world to life with the scale and perspective it deserves.”
