X-MEN’s Hellfire Gala, the mutant world’s biggest and sometimes most dangerous extravaganza, returns for a night filled with mystery, betrayal, and Omega-level fashion drama. X-Men: Hellfire Murder #1, hitting the stands in July.
As tradition goes, X-Men: Hellfire Murder #1 is Jed McKay (X-Men), Gail Simone (Uncanny X-Men), Eve L. Ewing (X-Men United), Saladin Ahmed (wolverine), Erica Schultz (rogue), Tony Daniel (X-Men), Luciano Vecchio (Uncanny X-Men), Federica Mancin (Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant) and so on! Once again, the giant-sized one-shot serves as the final year of X-Men storytelling, rich in reunions and romance, while also setting the stage for what’s on the horizon with surprising developments like the formation of an all-new Hellfire Club and the murder of a major mutant figure.
When a mutant power player is murdered at a special masquerade ball hosted by Sebastian Shaw, Wolverine and Jubilee are forced to solve a locked room mystery with dire consequences for all mutantkind. Everyone is a suspect. And the party isn’t over yet.
Leading the design effort is Marvel’s Stormbreaker artist Luciano Vecchio, following his work on last year’s Hellfire Gala issue. X-MEN: Hellfire Vigil. a

“Designing for the Hellfire Gala is always fun,” says Vecchio. “Since this is a masquerade ball, the challenge was to come up with a look that deviates from the classic iconography of each character to reflect the theme of the mask. The dress code calls back to classic Hellfire Club attire, so there are 18.”th-Century fashion combined with corsets and leather goods, but by mixing the genders of those elements, something elegant and sexy was created. ”
