“‘Daffodil’ was one of the first songs I wrote for this album, and it was actually when I heard it that I realized I could finally write my next album,” Jamie XX explained in a statement. “I am forever grateful to Kelsey Lu, who started this song as a voice memo of a hazy night we both remember. Thanks also to John Glaisher and Panda Bear for perfectly capturing the unique atmosphere of a London summer night.”
