Players create their adventurers’ backstories together, establish their history with Nemesis, and work together to overcome difficult challenges (both physical and personal) until they reach Nemesis’ lair and face the final boss.

the last battle‘s gameplay loop involves drawing cards from a deck. The deck includes challenge cards that represent obstacles on the way to the final boss, and moment cards that represent reprieves from combat. Players can use their characters’ special abilities to overcome challenges and earn rewards and experience consequences based on success or failure. Each challenge brings the characters closer to a final battle with their nemesis that will decide the fate of the characters and the world.
