New 5-book comic book limited series, captain marvel: dark pastwill be written by writer Paul Jenkins, who returned to Marvel with the recently announced film in March of this year. sentry series. Joining Jenkins will be Marvel’s Stormbreaker Lukas Werneck, known for his recent work. storm and Unbreakable X-Men. An upbeat journey through Carol’s past and present, the story begins with dark family secrets exposed and Carol revisiting her time as Ms. Marvel. But some memories are best left forgotten, especially those powerful enough to threaten Carol’s hard-earned legacy…

As a cosmic-level being, Captain Marvel has saved the universe, stopped alien invasions, and even defeated a god or two. But when an attack on New York, powered by a mysterious group called DNVR, exposes a dark part of Carol’s family history, she is forced to question everything she thought she knew about the Danvers name. Carol suspects that the answer lies in the investigation she was forced to stop while she was a journalist. As Ms. Marvel’s lost memories of her past come back to life, she faces her toughest battle yet.

On returning to Marvel Comics and playing Captain Marvel, Jenkins said: “Dear True Believers, I’m thrilled to be writing not one, but two books for the House of Ideas. Captain Marvel is such an amazing character, and I’m so excited to be writing not one, but two books for the House of Ideas.” With such a rich and complex past, and under the guidance of so many wonderful and talented writers, there’s a tremendous amount of material for me to bring to this work.” It’s a great character, and we’ll explore what makes Carol who she is, and maybe even bring out a new wrinkle or two. ”

Speaking about portraying Carol Danvers’ latest adventures, Warneck said, “I’m so excited to be working on this project. First of all, Carol is an incredibly strong character, with so many layers and conflicts, and always a good challenge. I’m also very excited to be working with Paul Jenkins. The conversations we’ve had about the comics, the story, and Carol’s struggles on this project have made me very enthusiastic about everything that’s coming up.”
