It was discovered in the 1950s on a clay tablet in the ancient Syrian port city of Ugarit and cannot be seen as thyme older than the Harian Hymn No. 6, which was more than 3,400 years ago.

The original tablet provides specific details about how musicians place their fingers on lyre, but other factors, such as tuning and time to keep notes, are absent, giving modern arrangements room for creativity.

And who can resist the opportunity to hear Harian Hymn No. 6 in an ancient lyr replica by a “new ancestor” composer Michael Levywho sees it as his musical mission and “opens the portal in an era that has not been forgotten”:

Samurai guitarist Steve Wonotella combines Dr. Danbril’s melody with Dr. Kilmer to pose an ancient mystery by experimenting and discarding synth waves, lo-fi hip hop and reggae dove (“absolute disaster”).
