Foo Fighters have announced a new album. The band’s new website is like a poster on your bedroom wall, and you can click on it to hear some of the new songs. Here’s everything we know so far.
When did Foo Fighters start dropping hints about a new album?
Before launching the new website, the band made several posts Instagram reel teasing new music. And their homepage was designed to look like a bedroom with a guitar in the corner, dirty clothes on the floor, a stack of CDs, and a Foo Fighters poster. Click on the poster to play a 10-second clip of the unreleased song.
What do you think of the song?
The previews are too short to really tell, but there are 11 of them. Some of them feature vocals, some louder and more incomprehensible than others. One finds Grohl repeating the line “Please turn off your camera,” and the other finds him saying, “I can’t hear any sound lately.” Some are more frenetic, others more melodious. Some sound like intros, others like bridges. You might even get a glimpse of the chorus in a hook or two.
Has the album been officially announced?
Not yet, so I have to say here’s the preview: probably From the new record. Foo Fighters’ last LP was in 2023 But I’m hereand considering they’ll soon be embarking on a stadium tour with support from Queens of the Stone Age, Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away, a new album seemed to be on the horizon.
Have Foo Fighters released a full song?
The band released several singles last year: “Today’s Song” and “Asking for a Friend.” It remains to be seen whether they will be included on the album.
Who is the drummer on the new album?
The upcoming album will be the Foo Fighters’ first with new drummer Ilan Rubin, who can be seen in one of the photos on their website. After he left Nine Inch Nails, he hired drummer Josh Freeze, who had just been fired by the Foo Fighters, to join the band.
