First Look At Sydney Sweeney In Boxing Movie ‘Christy’

First Look At Sydney Sweeney In Boxing Movie ‘Christy’

Sydney Sweeney’s upcoming biography of sports dramas, Christieofficially announced the release date via Black Bear photos. In addition to the news, new images have been announced showing Sweeney’s transformation into former boxing champion Christi Martin. The film premiered worldwide this Friday at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival and is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 7th, 2025.

According to Vanity Fair, the two released photos highlight Sweeney in the boxing ring, hinting at the fierce fighting scenes featured in the film. The image also first looks at Ben Foster, portraying Christie Martin’s husband, James V. Martin and Chad L. Coleman as well as famous boxing promoter Don King. The cast includes Merritt Weber, Ethan Embry, Jess Gabor, Katie O’Brian and Tony Cabrero. Christie Directed by David Michôd, who co-wrote the script with Mirrah Foulkes. The film tells the story of Martin’s rise in the boxing world and the battle for her survival after surviving an attempted murder by her husband in 2010. In a previous interview, Sweeney shared her experiences of rigorous physical transformation, including intensive weight training and kickboxing.

Beyond ChristieSweeney’s upcoming projects include Lionsgate adaptation Housemaid Alongside Oscar Nominee’s Amanda Safried and Brandon Screner, and Ron Howard’s survival thriller EdenStarring Ana de Armas. She is also set to recreate her role as Cathy in the highly anticipated third season A sense of happinessa delay occurred.
