Duchinna is an incredible classical singer, deeply rooted in her Mongolian heritage and early exposure to traditional Chinese music. It was clear from an early age that she possessed an innate talent for melody and rhythm, a talent further nurtured by her rich cultural background.
Duqinna, an ethnic Mongolian from Inner Mongolia, China, was surrounded by a community that excelled in singing and dancing, and music was an integral part of her daily life. This environment, combined with training on traditional Chinese instruments from an early age, built a strong foundation for her musical talent. Her natural talent for singing was recognized early on by those around her, and she began to explore this path more seriously.
For Duchinna, her first big experience in America was when she was invited to perform at the “Gloria In Excelsis Deo Christmas Concert” in 2021. The opportunity was especially memorable because it was the first time she was invited to sing at an American concert. The invitation marked a major milestone in her career and instilled in her a sense of responsibility and pride.
After making a name for herself in classical music circles, she was again invited by the same director to perform at Dialogue for Peace, this time with a choir to sing the Chinese song “Jasmine Flower.” This invitation not only allowed her to introduce Chinese culture to a new audience, but also highlighted her growing reputation as a versatile and cultured artist.
In 2023, Duchina participated in the Trentino Music Festival and was initially assigned the role of the fairy in Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute. However, due to a misunderstanding, she accidentally prepared for a different role. Faced with the challenge of learning a new role in just two days, Duchina surprised herself by successfully mastering the role of the fairy in German, a language she had only recently begun to learn. This experience taught her the power of determination and the ability to go beyond perceived limitations.
Throughout her studies, Duchina was tutored by Neil Rosenschein, a teacher who played a key role in shaping her vocal technique. His personalized teaching methods, tailored to her unique vocal characteristics and personality, ensured that Duchina received the guidance she needed without developing bad habits. His method of providing supportive, customized instruction while pushing her to overcome her weaknesses was instrumental in her development as a classical singer.
Duchina draws inspiration from famous lyrical sopranos such as Renée Fleming and Maria Callas. She admires Fleming’s depth of emotion, a trait Duchina hopes to embody in her performances. Duchina envisions a future career that combines performance and education. She hopes to further hone her vocal technique and receive more performance offers, while also contributing to the field of music education.
