Dungeons & Dragons Explores Horror And Magic In New 2026 Roadmap

Today at GAMA 2026, Wizards of the Coast announced their 2026 roadmap. Dungeons & DragonsThis includes both products and initiatives that change the way companies approach releases. Three new books have been announced. Ravenloft: Terror Within, Arcana Unleashed, Arcana Unleashed: DeadfallEach is tied to a smaller group of supplemental releases that reflect changes in Wizards’ strategy.

Giving broader context for major product drops, Senior Vice President Dan Ayoub also introduced the concept of “seasons.” D&D. Seasons uses major book releases as anchor points to build related products and work to build a strong sense of community and ongoing conversation around major releases.

First of all, what anchors “Season of Horror” is Ravenloft: Terror Within It will be performed from April to June 2026. The franchise will return to Ravenloft and Strahad after the 2021 season. Van Richten’s Ravenloft Guideand the new ruleset for 2024 will feature Strahad and his Gothic Realm for the first time.

Ravenloft: inner fear Offering more player options, including new horror-themed subclasses, races, backgrounds, and Dark Gift feats. There will also be content about Darklords and Domains of Dread, as well as content about dozens of Fearsome Mists denizens, including potential allies like the iconic Rudolph van Richten. inner fear is a complete package for DMs to build horror-themed campaigns, with content spanning multiple subgenres such as Gothic, Dark Fantasy, Cosmic, and Occult.

This Season of Horror also includes a new 60-card Tarokka deck, DM screen, and map pack. Pre-orders will begin on April 13th and the full version will be released on June 16th, 2026.

Supporting the “Magic Season” are: Arcana Unleashed and Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall, A new magical themed sourcebook and the adventures that accompany it.

Arcana Unleashed “The Ultimate Guide for D&D Magic Enthusiasts.” It offers more advanced magical character creation options and a new magical item system that allows you to increase the power of your items along with character leveling. Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall D&D’s ultimate Red Wizard adventure, providing an overview of the all-new Wizard Wars and a deep dive into the powerful magical society of Thailand.

The last big announcement at GAMA was the return of an updated version. D&D Encounter The program further encourages live play at local game stores and deepens community engagement and conversation around each major release. Wizards of the Coast works closely with local game stores to support in-store growth D&D Play sessions with the kit to support initial weekend play and regular weekly play.
