Djimon Hounsou and Halle Berry will be appearing in an Africa-based human trafficking thriller Red carda film that takes viewers on a journey from Kenya’s lush Masai Mara Plains to Morocco’s bustling port of Casablanca. The project will be directed by Joel Sousa, who has returned to feature films with the project after previous work. rust. The story is inspired by a true event from Africa and is developed by Ava Roosevelt, Robert Menzies and Michael J. Hershman.

In the film, Hounsou plays Max Elmi, a veteran Kenyan ranger who is fighting poaching. He works with Dane Harris, a permanent special agent played by the actor currently cast.

The plot gets stronger when Max’s talented soccer-playing son is fooled by a corrupt sports agent and disappears into the criminal world of North Africa. Alongside Dane’s moral dilemma, Max’s relentless pursuit of finding a son promotes the story from the Maasai villages of Kenya to the vibrant streets of Casablanca. The film is supported by the National Missing & Exploited Children and the Soloviev Foundation.

“The Red Card features fascinating scripts from authors with proven track record of creating memorable films, and Djimon is an actor with extraordinary depth.” Sousa said. “We are thrilled to bring this fascinating story to an audience around the world.”

Casting for the role of Dane Harris is ongoing and filming is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.
