Grammy-nominated global superstar Demi Lovato has released her ninth studio album. It’s not that deepvia DLG Recordings/Island Records — listen here. Executive produced by Zorn (known for her work with Kylie Minogue, Troye Sivan and Ke$ha), the album features 11 songs that reimagine the dance-pop style that was prominent in Demi’s previous hits. It gives off a celebratory vibe centered around taking control and removing inhibitions.
Ahead of its release, Demi performed the sleek and sexy electro-pop single “Fast,” the fiercely infectious pop anthem “Here All Night,” and fan favorite “Kiss,” the album’s title inspired by the lyrics, “It’s not deep, unless you want it to be.”
Speaking about the album, Demi said, “This album represents an exciting chapter filled with joy, freedom, and lightness. Making this album was the most fun I’ve ever had in the studio. Zorn was a great collaborator and easy to work with. We created a really fun, celebratory album that reflects where I am right now.” She added:It’s not that deep It’s about letting go of your inhibitions and embracing a carefree energy that makes you want to dance all night long. I can’t wait for you to dance with me. ”
The album received Demi’s best review to date from Rolling Stone, praising it as “a victory lap…she leans into playful synths, club-ready beats, and a free-flowing sound that lives up to the album’s title.” To celebrate the release, Demi will perform a one-night-only show at the Hollywood Palladium on October 25th. The concert sold out in just 20 minutes and sparked high demand for the tour, with over 200,000 people lining up for tickets.
