Have you ever tried to finish an idea and felt like you were hanging there silently? That middle thought, those almost all words, what you didn’t say (but really mean) –Epistral Resonance: Connection fragments It exists exactly there. Curated by Anqi Chen and Yi Yin, the exhibition is not about orderly conclusions or clear explanations. It is about the space between pauses, unfinished sentences, and fragments of meaning.
At the center of Epistral Resonance is the vision of a curator who builds truly interactive, deeply emotional stories. In addition to displaying artwork, the exhibition actually invites visitors into a dynamic space that is bustling with unfinished conversations, allowing for both emotional and intellectual engagement with each piece.
At the heart of this approach is the poetic “writing” framework. The artist gave a sincere, thoughtful response to the exhibition theme, and thoughtfully translated responses to the actual letters by the curator. Displayed along with the artwork as an honest personal reflection, these letters enhance emotional resonance and allow visitors to feel and intuitively connect with the ideas and emotions behind each creation.

Equally impactful – perhaps even a dynamic “light gate card.” The curators have collected emotional and visual fragments from the artist’s works (symbols, materials, abstract ideas) and transformed them into interactive cards that are included in the exhibition’s handbook and displayed on Windows. Visitors can rearrange these cards and change the visual narrative that makes their connection to the artwork very personal and appealing.
Three installations really capture this curatorial approach beautifully:
Jessica de Villiers & Yi Yin’s Online ingredients (2025) It fully embodies the philosophy of the exhibition. Text, annotations, and fragments of individual objects promote tactile exploration and highlight the scattered, fluid nature of identity, strange experiences, and emotional uncertainty. This two-dimensional yet completely interactive work really invites viewers to be creators of their own meaning.
Land group Land: How do you harmonize? It provides a deep emotional dive into collective memory and ritual care. By writing letters, sowing seeds and quietly documenting the film, these artists warmly welcome visitors, welcoming them to a shared experience of mourning, healing and true emotional connection. It is soft, shocking and perfectly consistent with the curator’s intentions.
Humbing Fan Fantastic lover It cleverly touches on the core ideas of unfinished conversations and unresolved identities. Using interactive video and digital reflection, Fang Nudges visitors stand up to their changing sense of self and reality, reflecting the playful yet truly meaningful uncertainty that is central to the exhibition.
Yuyang Chen, Yihan Pan, why U Design Ltd, Kechen Qian, Lei Pu, Yixuan Yang, Yijing Niu, and Xinyu liu -liu -bring make a bigger story with valuable, clear emotional threads that enrich the entire exhibition.
Finally, Epistral Resonance I’m not looking for a proper resolution. It leaves room for uncertainty, creates real immersive emotional dialogues, and invites visitors to engage with the highly personal arts. It resonates exactly as it envelops unresolved pieces and pauses as a true human experience.
With a special thanks to volunteers May Chen and Elaine Chu, I truly enriched the visitor’s experience and helped bring this curator’s vision to life.
