Rosie Kearney – “Here”

Rosie Kearney has returned with her first new music in three years, a vast single in heaven called “Here.” Along with a video directed by Cal McIntyre, the track was co-produced in 1975 by Ross Macdonald and Ed Thomas. “After recording my first album, naked I always knew that one day I wanted to create a much bigger world of music,” Carney explained. Since signing Polydor when I was 16, I have probably had hundreds of sessions with really great musicians. But for a long time I really avoided accepting collaboration. I finished “here” until I got to the studio with Ed and Ross, so I felt happy with the idea that there is a team of collaborators who are faithful to their intimacy, yet amplifying their voices and visions.

McDonald added: “Rosie was the first artist to fully express herself as a producer outside of my band, so I am extremely proud of what Ed and I created together.

But when I first performed this folk tuning with my friend Owen Spaford, we actually enjoyed it. I love the parts Owen wrote. The friendship and music we share are always paying attention in my life. A big heavy feeling, or go digging – it’s just singing to sing, singing to be together, singing for joy.”

“My mom and I had an Iris Direction CD in our car when we were little. This was the final truck. I’ve always loved it,” Mann added. “When I first performed live, a friend came to me and said, ‘It broke my heart and listened to you singing those words’ – I know what she means.’ Home and we are chatting. In a way, between chapters of me and my life, she can sing about our age.
