Taking inspiration from Sparks’ angular pop style, last dinner party guitarist Emily Roberts explored the tension of obsession and betrayal over “Second Best.” “I wish I could go back and tell myself that it’s worth more and that no one needs to accept the second best thing,” Roberts commented. Alan Sparhawk and Benjamin Booker share an unforgettable, raw yet hopeful track Aisle: Artists and asylum seekers in solidarity with migrant refugeesnew edits by West Vinyl. Rosie Kearney – “Here”
Rosie Kearney has returned with her first new music in three years, a vast single in heaven called “Here.” Along with a video directed by Cal McIntyre, the track was co-produced in 1975 by Ross Macdonald and Ed Thomas. “After recording my first album, naked I always knew that one day I wanted to create a much bigger world of music,” Carney explained. Since signing Polydor when I was 16, I have probably had hundreds of sessions with really great musicians. But for a long time I really avoided accepting collaboration. I finished “here” until I got to the studio with Ed and Ross, so I felt happy with the idea that there is a team of collaborators who are faithful to their intimacy, yet amplifying their voices and visions.
McDonald added: “Rosie was the first artist to fully express herself as a producer outside of my band, so I am extremely proud of what Ed and I created together.

Claraman – “500 Miles” and “My Life”
Clara Mann shared two instantly humble songs that appear Rift (Extended version)an expanded version of her newly announced debut LP. The former rethinks traditional songs based on Hedy West’s version, while the latter is a rendition of Iris Dement Ballad. Both feature fiddle player Owen Spaford. “On the songwriting line, it’s rare to find fun on stage,” Mann said of “500 miles.” “I often get excited, get energized, get lifted up by music, feel heavy or touched. But when I first performed this folk tuning with my friend Owen Spaford, we actually enjoyed it. I love the parts Owen wrote. The friendship and music we share are always paying attention in my life. A big heavy feeling, or go digging – it’s just singing to sing, singing to be together, singing for joy.”
“My mom and I had an Iris Direction CD in our car when we were little. This was the final truck. I’ve always loved it,” Mann added. “When I first performed live, a friend came to me and said, ‘It broke my heart and listened to you singing those words’ – I know what she means.’ Home and we are chatting. In a way, between chapters of me and my life, she can sing about our age.
