Lorraine James – “In a Cloak”

This song was almost lost. Some of us were into it, but it kind of lost steam. But one day it came back and we put it at the forefront of our minds. And it ended up being one of my favorite songs to play and record.”
“‘Broken by Design’ is about putting your all into something and understanding that it is destined to fail,” he added. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to stand on the other side of the situation, look back, decide to do everything differently, and grow. We’ve all made a lot of effort to speak well to each other, as friends and as bandmates. Sometimes it’s easy to differentiate, and sometimes it’s more like… Sometimes the lines are so blurred that we lose track of who we are and why we’re doing what we do. When I say “back to the start” I mean when we were doing this. This is purely for fun, to see each other, to travel, to be creative, to express ourselves through music, and I feel so lucky to be in a position where I can still continue with this album and this song in particular, and I’m trying to get back to what I was meant to be. ”
Aldous Harding – “One Stop”

The exploratory and celestial ‘What Lies Ahead’ comes with two mixes: Tchad Blake’s Dark-Side mix and Mark ‘Spike’ Stent’s Bright-Side mix. “This is a song about inventors and inventions,” Gabriel explained. “My father was an electrical engineer and an inventor, and I watched him go through the setbacks of trying to realize an idea that usually had to go through so many iterations, as well as trying to sell it both to people with money and to the outside world. So I was always interested in the creative process and how it applied to inventors.”
Prince Papa and the Hyena – “Heart of a large store”

Friko have released a peppy new single “Choo Choo” from their album. something worth waiting for. “I’ve always been interested in the magic of trains, and when I was writing that song I started singing ‘choo-choo’ and I just laughed,” recalls vocalist and guitarist Niko Kapetan. “Playing live is always a good feeling, slowing down and speeding up, but it’s also a very emotional homage to the band and how they feel like home to me.”
Bonnie “Prince” Billy – “Life is Scary Horses”
ahead of the release of the new album We’ll be together again On Friday, Bonnie “Prince” Billy released her beautiful, existential final single, “Life Is Scary Horses.” The song is described as a “spiritual cover” of Sally Timms and Jon Langford’s composition “Horses” and is accompanied by a video directed by filmmaker Braden King. “The main reason for covering a song comes from the unanswered questions it poses to our individual or collective psyche,” he explained. “And I kept thinking over and over and over again the questions that came out of ‘Horses’ in every situation, and I finally thought I could bring those questions to life with a new composition, a new recording of what could technically and essentially be called a new song.”

Charlotte Cornfield – “The Lost Leader”
Charlotte Cornfield previews her new album. hurts like hellincludes the gorgeous new single “Lost Leader.” “It’s a difficult song. But I also think it’s a bit of an interesting song. Is it a tragicomedy? It’s about the frontman’s character, who is tormented by personal demons and bad behavior.
