Together, we restore hope and trust in times of turmoil.

what do you believe? What do you expect? Where is your trust?

Written by Dr. Suzanne T. Eden

Evil seems to be breaking out in every corner of the world. Humanity is being torn apart by forces unthinkable just a few years ago. The safety and security we have come to expect is no longer something we take for granted. Most frightening of all is the deep feeling of helplessness. How do I find my way forward?

To get through this chaos, we can choose to go about our day as if nothing happened. Stopping at a coffee shop, buying groceries, complaining about the price of meat. You can ask the hottest influencers on TikTok and YouTube for advice. Meanwhile, we stand by and watch as all the institutions we once trusted to give structure to our lives crumble. Religion, politics, the justice system, healthcare, and education can no longer be trusted. Is all we can do is wait for evil to put an end to all good in this world?

we are together

The world is not inhabited by isolated individuals. It is a tapestry of life where each thread connects and ties together every other thread. We share the same breath and the same energy as every atom on Earth. What happens to one person happens to everyone. A young child fleeing to freedom in the mountains of Afghanistan suffers the effects of a jet plane damaging the air he breathes. The actions of Colombian drug lords have robbed the world of talented young musicians.

We all have a role to play in restoring hope and faith

The words “hope,” “faith,” and “trust” have all lost their meaning and been replaced by disbelief, cynicism, and fear. Amid all the uncertainty, one thing is certain. Fear and worry destroy us just as surely as external evil.

Now is not the time to turn inward and live in denial.

Start by restoring hope and trust within yourself. Doing so doesn’t necessarily have to be done through grand gestures. It grows through small human choices repeated every day. Below are some suggestions.

Focus on what you can control. We may not be able to control the forces of evil, but we can control our reactions to them. When the world is chaotic, we regain agency by paying attention to our own actions. Rebuild trust from the inside out by choosing kindness, honesty, and honesty in your daily interactions.

please take care of yourself. Practices such as introspection, prayer, meditation, journaling, and time in nature can help stabilize your inner self and open channels to connect with your universal energy source. A calm inner world allows you to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting in fear.

Shift your thoughts from yourself to others. Humans are biologically, psychologically, and socially connected. Throughout history, people who care and cooperate with others are more likely to endure hardship, find meaning, and recover from stress. In times of uncertainty and disruption, we need connection now more than ever.

Strengthen your community, one relationship at a time. Focusing on others creates trust and mutual support. Strong relationships increase the likelihood of receiving help in times of illness, loss, or crisis. From early human tribes to modern communities, survival has relied on cooperation rather than isolation. Checking on your neighbors, volunteering, sharing a meal, or simply staying connected can remind you that you are not alone.

Choose trust over division. As humans, we tend to seek out information that confirms our entrenched beliefs. These beliefs are extremely difficult to change, and these competing beliefs cause divisions between individuals, nations, and factions. Trust is rebuilt by seeking reliable information and holding it gently without fear-mongering or blaming. Be open and get to know the Other as much as possible. Whether it’s an immigrant, a homeless person, or a neighbor from another part of your country. At the heart of every individual is a core of common needs. That gives us hope and confidence.

Become the world you want to be in. Hope is contagious. When you live with patience, humility, and purpose, you quietly encourage others to do the same. Change begins when someone has the courage to embody it.

Hope and trust are at the heart of the healing journey

Healing from the negative energies of fear and doubt is not only important for one’s own healing, but also contributes to collective healing. It takes time, but by awakening your deep spiritual self, you can bring healing to a tattered universe.

Looking back at the end

Live with hope and trust without ignoring reality. It is to live witnessing the mysterious beauty and order that governs the universe. I believe that the energetic forces that cycle through the seasons, that the moon rules the tides, that cause tiny wildflowers to bloom on the forest floor, will never desert us.

May this year be a year of hope and trust for you. Goodness can grow here and now. Every thoughtful choice, no matter how small, becomes a thread that mends our battered humanity. It’s not a new era Woo woo I believe that when you cultivate positive energy within yourself, you increase the energy of the Earth.

Don’t give in to despair or denial. The universal source of all that is beautiful and orderly is at your side.
