With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I’ve started collecting different recipes to help me plan my Thanksgiving feast…
In doing so, not only did I start to get really excited because everything looks amazing, but I also got inspired to share…
Let’s get started!
I also think this is a great opportunity to highlight some amazing food bloggers.
Whether you want to go completely plant-based, have vegetarians on your guest list and aren’t sure what to make, or just want to try some new plant-based recipes for your side dishes this year, this is the perfect place to start.
Anyway, I think the most important thing about Thanksgiving is a beautiful platter of side dishes.

Thanksgiving appetizers!
There are so many great options for veggie appetizers, as many are naturally plant-based. You could keep it simple with a veggie platter and hummus, pickles and olives (my favorite), mixed nuts and vegan crackers, or try one of these great recipes:
Cucumber chips with cannellini bean dip
Thanksgiving feasts tend to be pretty heavy… so if a fresh, light and healthy appetizer is on your Thanksgiving wish list, you’ll be pleased to know this delicious Cucumber Bean Dip recipe.
Easy Garlic & Herb Vegan Cheese
This is, in my opinion, the perfect Thanksgiving appetizer. It’s delicious and easy to make. You can make it ahead of time and keep it in the fridge so it’s ready to eat.
Live Cultured Vegan Cheese Spread
If you’ve ever wondered how vegans survive without cheese… you clearly haven’t tried this amazing cashew cheese spread made by my friend Brigdette… did I mention it’s completely raw and cultured?
The perfect Thanksgiving appetizer!
Plant-Based Thanksgiving Main Course Ideas
The traditional main course at Thanksgiving is, of course, turkey, but if you have vegetarians at your party or just want to try something new, you can create plant-based main course alternatives.
Vegan Butternut Squash Wellington
If you’re looking for a Thanksgiving main dish that will wow your guests, this is it: squash stuffed with vegan sausage, almonds, cranberries, and kale. Delicious!
Is it Thanksgiving already?
Sweet Mushroom Pot Pie
Potato Crust
If sweet potatoes and mushrooms don’t express “plant-based Thanksgiving,” I don’t know what does. But seriously, this is incredible. Delicious, beautiful, and healthy!
If you’ve never tried roasted cauliflower before, you’re really missing out… This whole roasted cauliflower is easy to make and looks beautiful… you can even carve it up like a turkey if you’re feeling sentimental.
Vegan Lentil Bread with Cashew Gravy
Warm and hearty, this lentil bread is the ultimate healthy comfort food. Plus, it’s easy to make and pairs perfectly with any Thanksgiving side dish. I’m not sure how to reheat it, but it only takes 45 minutes to bake, so you can just pull it out of the oven and eat it warm.
Pumpkin stuffed with curried lentils
Stuffed squash is one of those recipes that makes an eye-catching main dish, and this curried lentil stuffing from frieddandelions.com takes the natural deliciousness of squash to the next level.
Vegan falafel with cranberry and pear dip
If you’re looking for a festive main dish to wow your guests, this recipe from Sina of VeganHeaven.com is perfect.
Plus, because the falafel is baked in a skillet, it won’t take up precious oven space on Thanksgiving day.
Thanksgiving Side Dishes
Yes…vegan side dishes please! To me, the side dishes are what make any Thanksgiving feast shine, and the great thing is that there are plenty of vegan side dishes available.
Whether you’re looking to put a vegan spin on an old family favorite or want to mix up something new, fresh and healthy… take a look at some of the amazing looking Thanksgiving side dishes I’ve put together here.
Vegan Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Mashed potatoes and gravy, a Thanksgiving favorite, are usually loaded with butter and cream… but with just a few tweaks to this recipe, you’ll end up with an entirely vegan version that’s even tastier than the usual recipe, thanks to a secret ingredient 🙂 .
Pumpkin is delicious…and…it’s not just for pie! This beautiful pumpkin salad from Nina Olsson’s book “Bowls of Goodness” features pumpkin, roasted beets, and a lemon tahini dressing. It’s so delicious…what’s not to like? A fresh and beautiful dish for your Thanksgiving table.
Skip the canned, overly processed, sugary stuff and try this delicious, raw, healthy and beautiful relish, it’s seriously yummy!
Looking to incorporate some raw vegan recipes this year? Don’t miss this Raw Walnut, Date and Celery Stuffing from The Rawtarian, a fresh and healthy addition to your Thanksgiving meal.
Did you, like me, grow up eating green bean casserole at Thanksgiving? This green bean casserole recipe is a delicious, healthy and vegan twist on the traditional dish.
Addictive Balsamic Roasted Carrots
Healthy-Liv.com’s Balsamic Roasted Carrots are not only beautiful, colorful, and crispy, but, as Liv says, they’re also super tasty and addictive.
Wild Rice and Mushroom Stuffing
This vegan, gluten-free stuffing from Megan of detoxinista.com is a big hit, especially for those with special dietary restrictions, but seriously, everyone else will love this stuffing too.
One Bowl Vegan Pumpkin Cornbread
Pumpkin cornbread? Absolutely. Be sure to buy organic cornmeal when making this gluten-free Thanksgiving treat from Simplyquinoa.com.
Delicious Thanksgiving Desserts
What’s Thanksgiving without dessert? Vegan pumpkin pie is a Thanksgiving staple for me, but this year I’d like to try a raw vegan dessert to round off a healthy, beautiful and delicious Thanksgiving feast!
When you serve up this vegan, gluten-free pumpkin pie from Minimalistbaker.com, your guests won’t even know it’s not the original egg-and-cream-filled version… unless you tell them, of course!
Fresh berries and coconut cream
This amazingly beautiful, delicious and healthy dessert couldn’t be easier! Make this easy coconut cream from MedicalMedium.com and serve with fresh berries…such a wonderful treat!
I love desserts made with fresh, healthy, delicious, in-season fruit, and this Raw Spiced Pear Cobbler from thespruceeats.com is all of that and more. Juicy, sweet pears topped with a tangy, spicy crumble for a delicious treat.
These Pecan Pie Bliss Balls are so easy to make…and incredibly delicious! I know the chocolate dressing doesn’t seem necessary, but it’s Thanksgiving, so why not!? 😉
I think cranberries are underrated… they’re hard to find fresh most of the year… but they’re in abundance around Thanksgiving, so try this Raw Cranberry Apple Pie from The Rawtarian.
Seriously, these Fresh Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars are the perfect marriage of cheesecake and pumpkin pie…and somehow healthy too! Please!
How you celebrate Thanksgiving this year is up to you…
May you be blessed with joy, health, happiness and abundance!
