“The Denial of God” Written by Dr. Ellen Morris Tigerman

For those of you who are or are curious about past lives, I would like to introduce myself. Because I’ve just written a second book called The Denial of God, and I’m currently preparing it for publication. My first suggestion is that your curiosity about spirituality will serve you best in a process that requires persistence and dedication. Exploring past lives is a journey that is both frustrating and fascinating. Therefore, you need to give it the necessary time.

I ended up here through a long and circuitous journey that began many years ago as a teenager. I had a past life experience that “shocked” and upset my family. So we never talked about it. Many years later, I became interested in writing a murder mystery about Professor Morris, who, like me, taught at a local university. At that time, I was at a loss, and considering my background and clinical experience, I decided to take a training course with Dr. Brian Weiss at Omni Center in Upstate New York. The topic Dr. Weiss was discussing was interesting to me because it was about past life regression. Dr. Weiss has written many books on past life theory and past life therapy, and I just finished reading his first book titled Many Lives, Many Masters. The course was intensive and the group was large, consisting of therapists and trainers from all over the world. I was very impressed and surprised by the past life regression that happened that week. Therefore, I decided that the theme of my book should be about the past life mystery, titled “Past Life Denial.” This first book set the stage for the characters and the theme of how past life regression can play an important role not only in the personal journey, but also in the healing process that occurs for each character in the story. The first book is about Professor Caitlin Molise, the heroine of a campus murder mystery, and how she uses her past life experiences to solve murders. My second book, which I have just finished and is ready to publish, is about Professor Ashford Connor, who deals with a terrible tragedy on his campus. And at this point I won’t say anything more about this story other than emphasizing the importance and role of the past life process in Professor Connor’s life.

When I was a professor in the communication disorders and psychology departments at my university, I had the opportunity to write many academic and clinical books. Although this process is research-based and fact-based, it is very different from writing a fictionalized novel. I have used my personal experiences over the years to create characters and stories, as past lives are denied and God is denied in the present. Therefore, a great deal of reality is injected into the fiction. At the root of all this was a personal experience I had as a teenager that changed my way of thinking about life in general and gave me the opportunity to look beyond this world and think about eternity. You have the opportunity to begin a journey of self-exploration to find something beyond this life. This is not an easy process and can take months or even years to complete. But there are many books out there that can serve as a foundation for your journey, especially Dr. Weiss’s books. All I can tell you is the fact that it is worth the effort and that if you persist, you will succeed in the end. Past life regression provides opportunities for self-healing and awareness to change your thinking and daily life. I recommend starting your journey with Dr. Weiss’ first book and moving forward from there.

Finally, we see that ideas such as the possibility of past lives and discussions of eternal souls in the mainstream press are becoming more accepted by the general public. Most people wouldn’t react the way I did as a teenager. So you probably won’t experience the same kind of criticism and concern that I had as a child. Be curious. Read a couple of books to start the process. Dr. Weiss’s book Many Lives, Many Masters and the book Soul Survivor by Bruce Leininger, Andrea Leininger, and Ken Gross tell the story of a young boy who has memories from a past life. Start with these two books and explore your dreams, memories, areas of interest, and special talents/abilities you may have to see what you feel and whether this is worth exploring. All this creates an image of your past life, which should be your starting point. As I said, your journey will not be easy, but it will be worthwhile and exciting because along the way you will discover who you really are in this life and who you were in previous lives.
