Awareness of the Chakra System comes from ancient India. The chakra system describes the major energy centers within the physical body. Ultimately each of the individual chakras work as a part of a larger system that regulates how your life force energy anchors and flows through your body.
Life force energy is also sometimes called chi, qi, or prana and is essentially the Divine force of life that animates your physical form and allows you to life and thrive.
The 7 major chakras within your physical body are key anchor points for your etheric life force energy which allow life force to anchor into your physical form.
Each of the 7 major chakras corresponds with a different region of the body, and contains a dense collection of nerves, arteries, veins, organs, and tissues that make up vital concentrations of life-force energy.
Ultimately while often viewed and even discussed separately, your chakras are all connected and together have an enormous influence over your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
When all of the chakras of your physical body are balanced, and flowing life force energy through them, you’re able to stay grounded to the physical below while also staying connected to and open to the highest realms of Spirit above.
This connection to Earth and Spirit through your chakras colors is sometimes referred to as the Rainbow Bridge… Because the rainbow colors of your chakra system as one, illustrate that you are the bridge between Heaven and Earth.

Why Are Chakras Associated With Different Colors?
Each chakra has its own name, but each also has a color vibration.
When lined up together, the colors of the chakras correspond to the colors you would see in a rainbow… and that is certainly not a coincidence!
Each one of the chakras are responsible for maintaining a stable, consistent flow of energy throughout the body. But each chakra also vibrates with a specific color energy vibration, and each chakra in the body is also energized by certain color vibrations.
Why Pay Attention To The Chakra Colors?
Since each chakra is energized by a certain color vibration, it is helpful to understand which chakras are associated with which colors… because this will give you insight into doing important chakra-cleansing work on yourself.
For example, the colors could help you to focus on individual chakras that you are trying to unblock or cleanse. You can also pay attention to how you feel when you look at certain colors, as this can give you another clue to help you assess the health of each of your chakras.
It is important to understand that the work of clearing and balancing your chakras is emotional work.
When your mind is clear, and your emotions balanced your chakra energy centers will reflect this balanced and embodied state.
Understanding the chakra colors is just another tool you can use to help with the body/mind/spirit integration that occurs when you cleanse your chakras to get that energy flowing correctly again.
Visualizing The Flow of Energy in the Chakras
Balancing your chakra energy centers is important work … though being able to balance the centers requires first being able to tune into them and sense their energy and presence.
Visualizing Your Chakra Energy Centers
One way to visualize your chakra energy is to imagine that your body is filled with liquid.
Now, imagine that each one of your chakras is a container.
Ideally, the liquid would be spread evenly across all of your chakras.
But what happens if you need a little bit more liquid in one container?
You borrow it from other containers.
This may work alright in the short term. Having that extra energy in the right place at the right time can give you the strength you need to overcome a short-term challenge.
But if you aren’t careful, these imbalances can cause you problems. And though the problems may start out as minor problems, they will eventually become more and more drastic.
Even worse, if you experience blockages, you may not even be able to move this ‘liquid’ around as needed. And this can lead to even greater hardships and complications.
