So, we’re finally ready and have our ultimate winter reading list. There’s nothing better this time of year than immersing yourself in a really good book, which is why we’ve got a long list of books for you to enjoy right here.
Down the Drain, Julia Fox
I love Julia Fox and I think she’s brilliant and just so iconic, so it was only natural that I would read her autobiography and I thoroughly enjoyed her honesty and wild stories.
The Secret History, Donna Tartt
I highly recommend this book, it draws you in from start to finish, if you are into “dark academia” with lots of twists and turns you will love this book, I love Tartt’s ability to expose human nature so completely and with such clarity.
Edward Enninful, the visible man
Another autobiography on the list is by Edward Enninful, the current Editor in Chief of British Vogue. I am a huge fan of his and it was so inspiring to read about his life, struggles and ultimate success in life.
Cleopatra and Frankenstein, Coco Mellows
There’s been a lot of buzz about this book, and rightly so. The story is so simple that the characters tell it all, which is what I love about it. But also, I love the way Mellows writes. Her language is beautiful, and I love her ability to make the everyday seem extraordinary.
Wandering Soul, Cecil Ping
This book moved me completely. It’s a beautiful story of immigration and assimilation. Not only is it a fascinating read, but it’s also intertwined with history, making the story powerful and very insightful. I also really loved the brotherhood that Ping was able to imagine so perfectly and inject so much emotion into the story.
The Shining, Stephen King
This may seem completely off-base, but I love a good winter thriller and nothing beats King’s. I loved this book and I always revisit it when I want to freeze to my core.
Lip, Sarah Rose Etter
I loved how this book portrayed the impact of mental health and a bad work environment because I have been through similar experiences – Etter really captured the depressing nature of the corporate world and it really confirmed my distaste for it.
