Cranberry nail polish is as versatile as Chanel’s Quilted 11.2 Crossbody and can easily be paired with any outfit. Gerstein explains that red is a great accessory shade because it complements many other colors well.
Try this trend with Deborah Lipman Gel Lab Pro Color Nail Polish in Cranberry Kiss, which dries and shines even before you apply a top coat. If you don’t have time to paint your nails or go to the salon, we recommend the Sally Hansen Perfect Manicure Press-On from Sinasnap. For the look above, I used almond-shaped press-ons that cost less than $10.
black cherry
Gerstein describes black cherry as “the deepest burgundy before turning black.” It has a glass-like shine, giving it a moody and noble impression. She recommends using OPI Lincoln Park After Dark (more of a purple) or Chanel Rouge Noir (a true deep red) for the look.
Gerstein also suggests trying colors with a jelly effect. “It’s a modern twist on vampy hues,” she says. To make your own black cherry jelly polish, Gerstein says, mix four to five drops of nail color in a clear polish bottle and shake. If the tint isn’t as dark as you like, add more slowly until it’s darker.
If you want to skip that extra step, use a ready-made burgundy polish with a jelly finish. We love Bonbon Jelly from Silk Colors. This is a dark burgundy with a very glossy finish that mimics the texture of jelly.
