makeup remover and cleanser
To remove makeup, double cleansing is still a must to effectively remove all traces of makeup and sunscreen. I love a good cleansing oil, but my favorite is not sold at Sephora (this is the Sephora Cleansing Oil) chanel). I have a few favorite solid balm makeup removers and I’ve listed them below.
Pharmacy Green Clean One of the best makeup remover balms. I love the classics and this is something I always have stocked at home, but the limited edition scented ones are always so fun to try.
Elemis and clinique Solid cleansing balms are also great, but I think Pharmacy’s ones are the most effective and good.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser It’s the best daily cleanser for me and Andrew. Having tried dozens of cleansers over the years, I have to say this has the best consistency that cleanses the skin without drying it out.
Serum and moisturizer
I’ve been skipping the essence treatment this year, but I think I’ll have to start using it again because it’s really effective! just repurchased la mer treatment lotion For sale.
When it comes to serums, my three favorites are: Drunk Elephant B-Hydra (Can be used all year round) Caudalie Vino Perfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum (for whitening) La Mer The Concentrate Serum (The best splurge).
I have a few favorite moisturizing creams. My top 5 are: La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream, charlotte tilbury magic cream, Augustine Bader the Cream, Drunk Elephant Protiny Polypeptide Firming Moisturizer and bobbi brown vitamin enriched face base.
I would rank La Mer and Charlotte Tilbury as my top two for now. These are the two formulas I packed for October. La Mer is quite a luxury, but I think it was worth it for me. I bought back moisturizing soft cream I have bought it many times and bought it as a gift for my sister-in-law for Mother’s Day. I like it very much.
If you want to use any of these formulas, I highly recommend checking out the Travel Set or Value Set and trying them out first. I always find it helpful to try a smaller size as a sample before committing to the full size. Some great options:
Some people have asked me if I use retinol or tretinoin, but I don’t. i really loved Kiehl’s Microdose Retinol Serum I bought it in the past, but haven’t bought it again for a while. My favorite is La Mer’s new work right now. rejuvenating night cream. I’ve been using this every other night for a few months now (but it’s better to use it every night) and I like it 10/10.
eye treatment
I have some of my favorite eye treatments from Sephora. of La Mer Eye Concentrate Cream It’s my current favorite. Not too thick and not too thin, it has the best consistency and texture for me. Helps with fine lines and hydration.
I was also very impressed. Caudalie’s Resveratrol Lift, Premier Cru and Vinoperfect Dark Circle Brightening Eye Cream. I repurchased Brightening and will probably repurchase Resveratrol Lift before the sale ends.
face masks and treatments
Of all the face masks and treatments I’ve used this year, pore removal and detox masks are the ones I’ve used the most. There are three that I think are 100% worth checking out. Innisfree Super Volcanic AHA Pore Clearing Clay Mask This is one of the gentlest pore masks I’ve tried and I’m hooked. Caudalie Pore Minimizing Instant Detox Mask is also good, but on the stronger side (absorbs a lot of excess oil). Some readers recommended: lamer deep purifying mask to me earlier this year. I decided to try it out and it lives up to your hype 10/10! It’s quite a luxury item and is currently sold out online, but if you’re interested you can always get a restock notification You can add it to your account.
I still swear by it for the best sheet mask La Mer Treatment Lotion Hydrating Sheet Mask But it costs an arm and a leg.
lip balm
I’m a lip balm addict. I love trying out different formulas! I have countless favorites, but here are three that I have used up and repurchased. Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm (this mini set It’s very cute) Laneige Glowy Lip Balm (love Such a cute set)and la mer lip volumizer (I love transparent ones, but colored ones are fun too).
Sample Summer Fridays are as follows:
sunscreen
My current top 3 sunscreens are: Caudalie Vinosun Protect SPF 50, Charlotte Tilbury Invisible UV Flawless Primer SPF 50 and Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion SPF60. I also really like Supergoop’s formula! But for now, these are the three I’ve been using lately.
body care
I love trying out different body washes and shower creams. I don’t have any loyalty to any particular formula or brand as I always like trying new things. Andrew also loves it, so I think he’s drawn to things that are unisex and have clean scents. The top three most purchased formulas are: Oi Dean Street Body Wash, Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Play Body Wash and jack black turbo wash. Turbo wash is a little too drying in the winter so I switched to the winter one. Santal’s Necessaire Body Wash (I love this body wash discovery set (released this year).
Andrew’s favorite shower oils are: l’occitane almond shower oil. We used to love Shea Shower Cream, but the formula and scent have recently changed and it now has a non-offensive floral scent.
If you are suffering from acne on your body (acne may appear during the hot summer months), Kosasport Good Body Skin AHA Enzyme Exfoliating Body Wash.
Two body creams that I really love are: Herbivore Botanicals Cloud Milk Coconut Body Cream and charlotte tilbury magic cream. As a big fan of the Phlur Missing Person scent, I really like this scent as well. missing person body oil (I think Osea and Chanel make the best body oils, but unfortunately Sephora doesn’t have them).
This concludes my current favorite skin and body care routine. I think finding the best skin care can be a challenge because it really takes time to try and see if something suits your skin type and needs. I wish there was one brand I could use for all my skin care. If I had to choose just one, I think Drunk Elephant has the best variety and range.
If you are looking for recommendations, I hope this post is helpful.
