When it comes to naming nail polish trends, some names come easier than others. Demi Lovato’s “Dolphin Skin Nails” – Weird but accurate. Megan Fox’s “melting crystal ball manicure”? It didn’t roll off the tongue right away. But the moment I saw it selena gomez‘s latest manicure, I knew exactly what to call this trend if it caught on: jelly bean nails.
Nail artist Tom Bachik– Gomez’s go-to guy posted a photo of the actor-turned-entrepreneur’s hand resting on a blurry pink surface. It’s even more pink. Bachik is the polish used for this pretty look. “A blush shade perfect for spring. A glimpse of the new BS-104 color. @shoptombachik The series launches on March 16th,” Batik wrote in the caption, calling the look a “juicy pink gloss mani.” However, although Mr. Bachik is an expert, I have to disagree. These nails look almost exactly like Jelly Belly Bubblegum flavored jelly beans. Therefore, I have to just call them jelly bean nails.
I mean, am I wrong? Curved shape, milky, non-opaque finish, and color (obviously). It’s like having a chewy candy topping on your fingertips. The simple yet stunning set looks like it’s ready for an Easter photo shoot.
“In spring and summer, nudes still have a milky sheer quality but are brighter and have more intense tones,” says Bachik. allure. “Sel loves this shade because it’s like a bubblegum blush lip gloss for your nails. It’s sheer, but it’s a bright baby pink.”
It’s refreshing to see such sweet pastel shades, especially in the middle of winter when parts of the country are covered in snow. I can’t help but think that spring is just around the corner. It’s an easy-to-copy style to lift your spirits during those gloomy February days.
Can’t wait for Bachik’s new polishes? We love them Essie Jelly Gloss in Blush Jellysimilarly Olive & June’s Pink Jelly Press-On If you don’t want to use the brush yourself.
