YSL Beauty has some new spring lip launches! As a huge fan of YSL lip colours, I was excited to try something new Loveshine Plumping Lip Oil Gloss ($40 each). They also added some new shades Love Shine Lip Oil Stick ($45 each) Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick ($42). After putting these into tests, there are a few hits and misses.
Loveshine Plumping Lip Oil Gloss
I received 4 new ones ysl loveshine plumping lip oil gloss As a press sample. The gloss is smooth and the colours are easy to stain. These have beautiful packaging with a gorgeous applicator. The pigment is 10/10, with perfect coverage and a nice glossy finish. These have spicy ginger and pepper oils, and have a noticeable spicy toothy aroma. The plump effect is very strong and is noticeable within a few minutes. I have a medium level for plump stinging, but the tingling is intense on my lips with a slightly numb, heated sensation.
They’re not that painful Fenty Gloss Bomb Heat, Charlotte Tilbury Plump Gasm Gross or Maybelline lifter plump glossbut the tingling was still very strong and I found them too strong for my sensitive lips. A 1-10 chingle scale (10 hurts the most) rates YSL single level 8.5.
02 Lucky Moonstone is a shiny light pink
44 Nude Lavalliere is a fairly neutral pink
1 Thunder Steeler is a stunning lilac with a glittering of gold
8 Purple Dream is a very reddish plum
If your lips can handle the tingling, I think the colour and finish are super beautiful. For me, I have tried these on several different days and unfortunately decided they were too strong for me. These will be released on Sephora on 3/28 (app) and 3/29 online.
New Shade Rab Shine Lip Oil Stick + Candy Glaze
I’m always excited about the new shades of YSL balm. There are two new shades in the Candy Glaze This is my favorite formula from YSL. It’s on the thicker side, but in a good sense, the color sticks well to the lips and remains on the lips longer than the other shades of balm. They added 44 Nude Lavalliere The lineup is a pretty cool tone pink 16 Watermelon High This is a warm rose. I love the colour and finish.
YSL has also added new colours Love Shine Lip Oil Stick in 213 Pink Travel and 214 Wet Guava. Both are beautiful soft pink neutrals, but they are both very similar on my pigmented lips because they are pure. I pulled on some other pinkish neutrals that are in the same formula. They look like they are seen on my arms, but they look very similar to my lips. If you only had to choose one, I think I would prefer wet guava a bit. Both formulas/shades are all in Sephora.
Overall I love the new candy glaze shade. I think the new Love Shine is pretty, but it will probably show up better to most of you. My natural lips are on the dark side, so pale shades don’t always appear on my lips. Just like I love the colour and finish, I think the new Love Sign Plant Lip Oil Gloss is a pass for me as it can’t deal with tingling primarily.
Available at Sephora.
The press samples sent to the oil and other press samples were purchased by me.
