New Tom Ford Lip Color Lipstick + Lip Pencils

It’s been a while since I bought Tom Ford lipsticks again and I’m shocked at the prices these days. I’m not sure if it’s “worth” the hefty price tags that keep going up on luxury cosmetics, but I’m really happy with the performance, quality, and color of this particular product. It glides on well on the lips, is not opaque, just a little shimmery, but still gives a nice color effect. I think the new formula is a noticeable improvement for a more modern look. The original was certainly a classic, but some of the colors were very opaque (especially the lighter ones) and seemed a bit too heavy.

The new formula is a true classic lipstick formula, yet looks a little more natural on the lips. These still have the same classic soft vanilla scent and mahogany + gold packaging (which I love). However, I’m a little disappointed that I couldn’t keep all the shades.

• spanish pink Nude pink, easier to wear and a little warmer than the original
• sable smoke What I remember is still the same flattering beige nude (unfortunately, I no longer have the original to compare)
• west coast It’s a 90’s brown cinnamon sepia shade.
• slip Blue-based baby pink
• runway rose A plum pink rose
• casablanca It’s mauve pink. The new version seems to have fewer gray tones, and you can actually wear the new version (the original version looked a bit gray)
• ardent A very reddish plum, almost identical to the original, I could barely tell the difference between the two variations

I ordered it blind and was lucky that every color worked well for me! The staying power is similar to the original formula, lasting for hours, but nicely/evenly It disappears. These are solid wins for me.

The formula is smooth, creamy and opaque, not too drying on the lips and stays on the lips very well. It doesn’t completely break down, but it adheres well to the lips. I miss some of the shades of the old formula (the ones with the brush), but the four I chose are great. The colors I purchased are all variations of neutral tones.

I’m not too happy with the ridiculously high price, but there are some solid wins overall. The quality is 10/10 and they have launched some really beautiful classic colors that can be applied without any hassle or adjustments.
