NARS has revamped its lipsticks with new formulas and refillable packaging styles. Blatant lipstick ($40, refills are $24). The lightweight formula has a satin finish, medium to full coverage and rich color payoff. The NARS team sent me a selection of bold shades, and since I love neutral lip colors, I ordered the nudes. Nordstrom, Ulta Beauty, Sephora, Nars and all NARS retail stores.
This new lipstick is definitely a big hit. The formula is classic. Fragrance-free. Moisturizing and lightweight. Even after trying more than 10 shades, my lips are completely intact without any dryness or peeling. The formula is on the light side, so it may feel a little thin, but the smooth coverage is impressive. It moisturizes the lips and feels comfortable to wear. I wish it was a little creamier and thicker, but I really like that the texture is not too soft or melty. It seems very durable.
Many of the light neutral and medium brown tones are very similar, but there are noticeable differences in the undertones, and I was so happy to find that I can actually wear all of the shades, even the lighter ones (yay!!!).
I’ve divided the swatches into two categories: neutral and bold. NARS Light Reflecting Foundation Vanuatu (Read the review here)In this post, Total Seduction Eyeshadow Stick In addition to stripping down and mambo Patrick Ta Major Dimension III To the eyes Deep Throat Brush On the cheek.

Overall, a solid A. I don’t know if I’d say this is the best lipstick formula ever, but it’s very good and I think I can use all the colors I’ve tried. My top five are Blame, Liason, Adulterous, On Top, and Devious.
Also, Total Seduction Eyeshadow Stick ($32) added to this post. These were released for the summer and I like the colors, but I’m still not convinced by the matte creams. In general, I don’t like cream matte shadows as they tend to look dry when applied to the lids, especially when they dry down. These are creamy matte eyeshadow sticks that are impressively pigmented and don’t budge once set. They set quickly, so you have to work very fast to blend, which is not forgiving for my lids. These are wearable and easy to blend for a matte, but I prefer a powder shadow format for a matte. Patrick Ta Major Dimension III Palette (sample here).
Overall I like the new lip launches as they are classic and unpretentious type of lipsticks. The Matte Cream Shadow Sticks are very good, although I prefer a bit more shimmer in the creams and still prefer powder in the mattes.
