Scarves are modern classics and have dominated social media feeds all summer. Available in all shapes and sizes, from classic bandana motifs to romantic flowers, bold Bauhaus prints, to retropaisley. You can tie it into your hair, wrap it around your waist, tie one into your bag, wear it as a halter bando on vacation, or as a belt around your jeans or coat, or in wide leg pants and tuxedo jacket for dinner. Drape it over a baseball cap and tie it under your chin for the appearance of that off-type model. Don’t forget the cat’s eyes Sunny. And if it’s generously sized, come in the late summer and use it for that summer Vivet as a makeshift paleo worn at the end of summer.
The statement scarf is a favorite of old Hollywood icons and rock royalties, mimicked in today’s style set. For some references I love: Rene Pell’s pictorial perfection, Slim Keith’s Uptown Cool, Grace Kelly (woman wearing the famous Hermes scarf as a sling on his arm), Jackie Kennedy’s signature look, and David Bowie, whom he wore as a mad dog, clearly influenced Carrie Grant. Pro tips: Some scarves are too good to keep hidden in drawers. Assemble them and let them live their second life as wall candies. After all, they are works of art!
