Bradley Cooper Didn’t Actually Shut Down Those Plastic Surgery Rumors

Just two months ago, Simone Biles answered a fan’s question about her boob job and opened up about having lower blepharoplasty. Before that, Kylie Jenner revealed the exact recipe for her implants, and everyone praised her surgeon, Dr. Stephen Levine, for the details of her mother Kris’ facelift. Jennifer Lawrence recently revealed that she was looking forward to getting a facelift herself in the future. We seem to be entering an era of radical honesty when it comes to celebrity beauty treatments, but only among women. Sure, a handful of celebrities have taken the path of aesthetic transparency, but A-listers like Bradley Cooper aren’t ready to meet the moment yet.

After months of speculation about who Internet commenters are calling his “new guy,” rumors about the actor’s appearance have finally been addressed, though not by Cooper himself. When he appeared on January 5th, smartlessOn a podcast hosted by Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes, Arnett said he was asked the question numerous times during the press tour. Is this on? Here’s what people don’t know about Cooper (the director and one of the film’s co-stars). But instead of sharing random facts about her favorite foods and things she likes, Arnett decides to address the plastic surgery gossip on Cooper’s behalf. [that] “Everyone thinks Bradley has had plastic surgery…What people don’t know is that he hasn’t had plastic surgery,” he said.

Cooper recently said with a laugh that strangers approach her and tell her she looks good, but declined to address speculation about plastic surgery. Still, Arnett said the “bullshit” rumors made her angry. “People say that all the time, but it’s so funny,” he said. “Everyone thinks they know.”

So he’s right. Plenty surgeon and random civilian on social media guessed Cooper may also have had upper blepharoplasty, a lower face and neck lift, hair transplants, and laser treatments. Arnett points out that rumors like this should be taken with a grain of salt, and you can never know exactly what a celebrity is doing without a doctor’s approval, but they don’t come out of nowhere. It’s hard to accept claims that he was ill after his complexion became noticeably lighter and the skin around his eyes appeared to tighten late last year. zero The work done when the public is collectively able to communicate that something It has changed.

I don’t think celebrities are obligated to give a thorough explanation of their aesthetic choices, but if Cooper comes clean about his treatments, it could open the door for even more men to open up about the pressures they face to stay young and attractive. As it stands, there are still many very real (and often homophobic/misogynistic) taboos around the perception of male vanity, but to be perfectly honest we could do without it. And, let’s be real, if women are expected to share every detail about their aesthetic upkeep down to their cup size, it would be great if men were afforded the same honesty to the public. At least they can admit they love a good facial.
