And then there’s the vitamin trio that makes this formula truly multitasking. “Vitamin C, E, and B work together beautifully: vitamin C protects and brightens, vitamin E strengthens and stabilizes, and vitamin B soothes the skin and supports barrier health for supple, bright skin,” says Dr. Humphrey.
It’s also formulated with emollients like dimethicone and glycerin, which provide foundational power and create a soft, even canvas for makeup to glide and settle. You don’t often find formulas that hydrate, nourish, and perform makeup all at once, but this formula somehow does it effortlessly.
How does it fit into my routine?
In the morning, this is the last step in my skincare routine (right before SPF). No pilling under the foundation, which is a huge benefit for dry skin. Since adding this to my routine, I have completely stopped using another primer. Your makeup will go on better, stay fresh longer, and your skin will look naturally radiant.
I also use it as a moisturizer at night. Although it’s sold as a primer, it’s rich and moisturizing enough to be used as a night cream without clogging your pores. On nights when I’m too tired to do all my skincare routines (which happens most nights since I’m a busy mom), I just cleanse, pat dry, and apply a generous amount of face base. By morning my skin feels soft, balanced and happy.
Result: My skin is better
After a few weeks of using it once or twice daily, the change was undeniable. The flaky spots on my cheeks disappeared. Makeup goes on well, and even on no-makeup days, your skin won’t look dull and will look naturally bright.
I still believe that moisturizer is personal. It should be something that works on your skin, your routine, and your life. But somehow this can do it all. It’s the kind of formula that adapts to dry skin, tired skin, and everything in between, and that’s what makes this product so great. If you love multi-tasking products (or simply don’t have time for many steps), Face Base has a spot on your vanity.
