Primer/Complexion Enhancer
I don’t usually use a primer yet because I prefer to use a multitasking moisturizer. Here is a multi-tasker that I use that can be used as a primer or skin tone enhancer.
Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Stick – This is a glowing foundation stick, but at first I thought it would glitter and be messy on the skin. It has an emollient effect but is not sticky. A few readers messaged me about this and said they used it as an all-over primer base and added concealer and powder on top for the perfect natural glow. I tried their tips and loved the way they looked.
One/Size by Patrick Starrr Base Thinner – After receiving a press sample, I tried Bronze Base Thinner and fell in love with it. This is a multitasking product that can be used in many different ways, but I like to mix it with my favorite foundation for a more natural glowy look. I bought the pearl pink one to try. The bronze is definitely darker than my skin tone and gives a bronzed look, while the pearlescent pink looks more natural.
Saie Glowy Super Gel – Another favorite of mine for dry skin or if your foundation is starting to look dry or patchy. I like to mix one pump of this with liquid foundation to give it a little more shine.
Refy Glow and Sculpt Face Serum Primer – One of the few primers I like because it feels lightweight and not heavy.
best foundation
These are the top 4 in rotation from Sephora.
Dior Forever Skin Perfect Foundation Stick – This is my most used foundation since 2024. I do need to mix shades from time to time, but 3N is perfect for me so far. I liked the coverage, blendability, and ease of application. (PS: I tried the new Forever Skin Glow Foundation Forever Skin Glow Foundation and it left my skin very dry even though it was supposed to be “glowing”.) here.
It Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation SPF 40 – This is the best CC+ cream with SPF as it is not as thick as most CC+ formulas.
armani luminous silk foundation – The new formula works just like the original formula for me. I still like it because it has a naturally glowing finish without being too shiny. See it in action here.
m.ph le skin weightless serum foundation – I love this new formula. I think it’s difficult to truly describe it as “weightless” because you can definitely feel it on your skin once it solidifies. I still love the medium natural coverage. I’m between shades 150 and 170 (must be mixed). demo here.
best concealer
Nowadays, I don’t use concealer much because foundation provides enough coverage. These are my top picks from Sephora.
prada beauty micro correcting concealer – This is a lightweight, medium coverage blurring concealer. I love this under eye area! Demos and samples here.
YSL Touche Eclat Concealer Pen – This is still my favorite under eye brightening concealer. Although it is a thin formula, it has a brightening and emollient effect. It doesn’t cover dark circles, but I really like it for brightening.
natasha denona high glam concealer – This is the best multitasking creamy concealer. I like that it doesn’t wrinkle or harden. I also like that it lasts a long time.
Ilia Skin Blur Serum Concealer – This is a new formula that provides great under eye coverage. Not too thick, but not see-through either. Blur and self-setting. really like Ilia and hourglass concealer brush.
powder/set
I only use one brand of setting powder these days. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I like both the original and talc-free formulas. This is one of the few loose powder formulas that doesn’t seem to leave a white cast on my skin.
favorite cheek
I have a lot of blush favorites. I love trying new shades and formulas, but if I had to pick just five, these would be my picks.
Patrick Ta headlines DoubleTake Cream + Powder Duo – I love the color and the fact that it can be layered with cream over powder or worn on its own. I take at least one shade with me when I travel. Some shades are also available mini size.
prada touch cream to powder soft blur blush It’s new and I love it. These are cream blushes and dry to a nice satin finish. I like to apply it with my fingers. I’ve only tried peach and tulip so far, but I love the tones, so I plan on reviewing and swatching all the colors I bought before the sale ends. (Peach on face hereboth shades are applied here. )
YSL Make Me Blush (Powder) is a powder cheek that I’ve been using a lot lately. Both the glitter and matte are very beautiful. The silky smooth texture is very beautiful. If I had to choose one color, it would be 44B Nude Lavallière! Review + Sample here.
Armani Luminous Silk Cheek Tint This is the best long-wear formula for a liquid cheek. Most other formulas aren’t long-lasting, but these have a great drydown and last without looking heavy.
road pocket blush – I think these are my favorite cream cheek formulas. It’s super easy to pat on your face and blend. I always take Freckles and Piggy with me on trips.
bronzer
dior forever skin bronze bronze balm stick – If you’re going to buy a cream bronzer, buy one from Dior. Here are swatches of the three shades, this is the best cream bronzer with a satin finish that I’ve tried and I really like the color. Not too orange, not too cool tone, just right! swatch here.
Makeup Transforming Skin Enhancer by Mario Softsculpt – This is a natural cream bronzer and the concept is very similar to that of the Merit Stick. I really like it because it looks natural on my skin.
Merit Bronze Balm Sheer Sculpting Bronzer – Also, I found it too sheer for my taste at first, but I am reaching for this one. I’ve been trying to lighten my bronzer, but I think a more sheer one would look better on my skin tone.
best highlighter
Sarah Claire Today’s Highlight Peptide Balm – This is the best glowing dewy highlighter I’ve tried. This is because it doesn’t feel sticky or greasy to the touch. Although it is a balm, it has a smooth feel. The finish is sheer and natural, leaving your skin bright and glowing.
Hour Glass Unreal Radiant Glow Liquid Highlighter – I just saw a swatch here, a more detailed review will be published soon. This is a new and new formula for Hourglass. highlight brush. 10/10 for liquid highlights. The finish is smooth and easy to control. It doesn’t feel too matte or glittery on the skin, and the drydown is good. swatch here.
Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Liquid – This is an all-time favorite. If I had to choose one, it would be either Peachy or Nude.
prada light glowing highlighter powder – I like this as a powder highlight – The shine is so beautiful! Swatch here.
I love eyeshadow
natasha denona Everything is incredible. I still love “I Need a Warm” and “I Need a Nude” (sample here and here).
prada dimensions multi-effect refillable eyeshadow in 8 Pansy is my favorite palette of the year so far (swatches) here).
merit solo shadow – I like these as unique shadows. The top three are Vachetta, Glace, and Surrealism.
For an all matte palette, Makeup by Mario Master Mats Original is tied to patrick ta matte palette (I like all shades, but medium is my favorite).
Eyeliner/Mascara/Eyebrow
anastasia brow definer – This is a classic, I just ordered ArchiBrow Microblade Detailing Pencil The packaging is really innovative and the application is very detailed and detailed, which I really like.
Glossier Boy Brow Arch Pencil – This is also my favorite formula, but I don’t have enough of it in my pencil. I ended up using it up quickly, so I stopped buying it again.
Tarte Tube XL – This is the best smudge-resistant mascara I’ve tried.
dior show over volume extreme volume waterproof – I love this new formula more than any other mascara formula from Dior.
lip gloss
As a lip gloss lover, it’s hard to narrow down my favorites, but I’m sticking with these five.
dior addict lip maximizer – Lifelong Dior Lip Gloss Lover!!!!!!
refi lip gloss – Has the best neutral tone.
Lawless Forget filler gloss – Some of the shades may be too pale for me, but I recommend Cherry Vanilla for that shiny pout.
Sarah Krell – I really like this formula and color. It’s fresh and gives just the right amount of color. These are the things I took on all my trips last year.
colored lip balm/oil
I spare no expense in trying out the latest and greatest balms and oils.
Patrick Ta Measure Moisture Tinted Lip Balm – This was a pleasant surprise for me! I like that it has enough pigment for a balm. Pink salted caramel on the lips here.
Summer Fridays Lip Butter – A classic item that I always carry in my wallet. really like limited duo They recently launched.
YSL Anything – now is the time to save! I love these, but they are expensive. I can’t accept the high prices of lip products these days. I still remember when Tom Ford released a $50 lipstick and everyone was furious. Almost everything seems to be around this price range now.
dior lip glow oil – I love the new formula, which has a cushioned, glass-like finish. Sample for this post here.
my go-to lipstick
YSL candy glazebut really YSL anything! I feel like they always release top-notch formulas and colors. I especially like Candy Glaze in Shade 13.
prada monochrome soft matte blur lipstick – Best matte lipstick formula I’ve tried.
dior rouge dior on stage lipstick – The iconic Rose is the perfect nude pink.
gucci glow and care shine lipstick – These are classics that I can’t live without, especially Sally Soft Honey and Julie Blush.
NARS Afterglow Sensual Shine Lipstick – I like the glossy finish.
lip liner
I’m currently testing out a few new lip liner formulas, so I’m not sure which one is the best at the moment. I still really love you tom ford beauty and dior. I’ll let you know soon about anything new I’ve tested.
That concludes my makeup recommendations! I know it’s a long summary, but I wanted to cover all categories.
