It is said that the average adult will start over 30,000 A day’s decisions. Whether or not to have another cup of coffee is a small decision. What kind of earrings will you wear next? Something bigger. After all, it’s a hole you intentionally made in your body.

Whether it’s your first piercing or your 21st, choosing a piercing can be difficult. That’s why we asked professional piercers for their thoughts on the biggest trends of 2025. These experts are full of inspiration for ear curation, face placement, and body modification, but they’ve narrowed their selection down to seven trends (including unexpected facial piercings): 90s Revival (and at least one 90s revival) are currently gaining popularity among the masses and in their own stores.

“Snails will be mainstream in 2025,” he says. Rose Rahim Dejesuspiercer nine moons earrings in New York City. Cartilage piercings, which we’ve heard from Rihanna and Kylie Jenner, are becoming more and more popular year after year, and the trend shows no signs of slowing down. “This is a piercing that looks good on everyone, and the majority of people have the right anatomy for it,” DeJesus explains.

Conch is especially easy to style. “We’ve noticed that people are interested in putting large pieces of jewelry in their ears, and conch has a lot of surface area to put those large pieces of jewelry in,” she added.

DeJesus also predicts that people will update their look for 2025 by using chains instead of regular rings or separate studs. “The chain gives the illusion of a ring,” she says. [going through the actual hole]”

Stacked robes, in which earrings are placed one on top of the other on the earlobe, have taken over piercing studios around the world. brian keith thompsonowner and piercer of Body Electric Tattoo in Los Angeles, and star erisThe owner and piercer of Nine Moons Earrings in New York City is seeing an increase in requests for this style in her shop.

Adding stacked lobes is an easy way to update your existing ear curation. “We still see many clients fixing older, misplaced, or random-looking earlobe piercings by adding on or layering them,” says Ellis. Masu. “This can give quirky earrings a purposeful, cohesive look.”

Don’t know what to do after getting your second (third… fourth…) lobe piercing? Why not another lobe piercing? “We’ve noticed a huge uptick in high-lobed piercings,” DeJesus says. “It’s usually placed in a small corner of the ear, the transition area between the ear lobe and the cartilage.”
