Where is all the settings? In addition to the single button on the dryer, you can switch between them using the handy app on your phone.

About the tester: Jesa has long, medium dense, wavy hair.

“I hate blowing hair. It’s an average blow dryer, and it takes a lot of time and I’m tired of it. Using an aircraft was an incredible experience. I don’t want to style my hair yet, but the aircraft dries slightly damp hair in 4 minutes and 4 seconds (yes, it counted). It zaps the moisture, but won’t burn me.” – Jessa Marie Karaall, Senior Beauty Editor

  • wattage: 1875W
  • Contains attachments: 2 (diffuser and concentrator)
  • Weight: 1.7 lbs

Why is it worth it: If you think Revair looks like a small vacuum, you’re not too far. Instead of pushing hot air with delicate curls, suck it out of your hair using “reverse air” technology. This allows you to stretch and smooth the texture without the need to use other tools. With 3 heat and 7 tension settings, you can easily find the right combo for your coil, blade, lock, twist out, and even extensions, as well as wigs.

During the test, I found it to be a bit troublesome to hold the cane and the machine is bulky so it’s difficult to travel together. However, the ability to gently dry and smooth Type 4 curls is unparalleled. There is no shortage of parts either. Includes a heat wand, a reverse air base unit, a 5.5-foot hose, a removable one-dress and a mesh filter basket. Naturally it’s a little heavier than the other hair dryers on our list (8 pounds), but I didn’t feel this was an escapee during the test.

About the tester: Jessica has collie and 4B hair, but she’s thick.

“My hairstylist says blowing your hair off before you add a twist will be a huge help in maintaining moisture. But even the comb attachments have a hard time wielding the 4B coil hot tool. Watch K-drama.” – Jessica’s Cruelty, Editor’s Editor

About the tester: Jailynn has hair and uses minimal heat, but I love Revair for styling like blade-out.

“My favorite thing about the revival is how quickly your hair dries and grows without resorting to extreme heat or a lot of tension. In a traditional dryer, it was dense and took time to hold the water deep inside, but the revival works from the inside, pulling out the moisture and growing your hair. For over four years now, I can say it helps to minimize breakage. And what’s more, my only complaint is heavy and overall slow is that my only complaint can be used. —Jailynn Taylor, Contributor

Tester feedback from contributor Deanna Pai

About the tester: Diana is a dense, fine, curly hair with 2c/3a hair, and is mostly someone who washes it off due to time constraints.

“This tool really surprised me. It’s the best way. It’s very lightweight, easy to handle, it’s very dense, and usually takes air drying forever. Frizziness is unusual for me. This is something I wear hair most days, but with a sophisticated style or fast drying, it’s not flashy. —Deanna Pai, Contributor Editor

Tester feedback from Alessandra Forshoo, Managing Editor

About the tester: The ale has wavy 2A hair that is prone to frizziness when air-dried.

“This hair dryer is like that Powerful. In the best environment, I let my hair dry in seconds (I tried both hair and coarse drying). It was actually so powerful that by chance I blew a few things out of my vanity.

Also, despite being bigger than my regular hair dryer, it’s much lighter, but with long, thick hair like mine, my arms don’t get tired anyway. But it’s quite large so it doesn’t fit in my regular tool basket (NYC apartment, amirite?) under my bathroom sink.

Its appearance was also very refined! My husband said that when I watched it with the concentrator nozzle turned on, it looked like a tool in a space movie. The cooling function was stronger than my regular hair dryer (old Harry Josh). And the buttons for that can be pressed in some way to make them easier to access. When the button is a troublesome place or when pressing it makes your fingers white, it’s a pet peer. I think it was mostly postponed due to an upgrade! ” —Alessandra Forforto, Managing Editor
